Week Eight: Evening Framing
The two framers and the builder arrived at 6:30 PM, having gotten "stuck in traffic." Doc said they could work until 8:00 PM. That's our bedtime and I'm SURE our working neighbors would like some tranquility after working all day!
Edging, Back Garden Inherited
Leo is one of three gardeners on our street that is adopting some of the herbs and flowers from our edible garden in the back. It's a wreck thanks to the construction.
Almost done! We need a few more scallops from the garden center.
Our next herbs and tomatoes will be in containers. This was a fun garden but things change.

Making the Most of a Day Off
His workspace is invaded by lumber pack and windows for the Sun Room. Can you see him?
playing with his head light
He's seriously working.
Then he chipped most of the fallen tree while I edged as far as I could until running out of Tom's gift of cement scalloped edging. The back yard is still a total wreck!

Week Eight: Framing
Memorial Day Weekend
Looking South
Looking North
We still have lots of snow melt and the peaks are still white with snow. It's a beautiful walk.
Elmer is explaining the framing process to Jeff.
Matthew, the builder, brought the windows. To the far right you can see Jeff's choice. My bay window choice is in front. Can't wait!
Doc has a new project mower!

Vapor Barrier
It appears to be complete; Daniel was working for several hours while we were chopping down the tree.
Cutting Down Dead Tree
So now, Doc has many hours of chipping to do. Time for me to go knit!!!

Week Seven: Lumber Pack
Daniel will finish doing the vapor barrier tomorrow, providing it doesn't rain or hail!
Depending on the weather, the framers might be done by Sunday! Then Doc can park his Baja in the garage again. Right now, his side is full of supplies and the windows will join the pile of stuff this weekend. Exciting!

Hail and More Hail!
My phone said there's a 10% chance of rain. NOT! We had rain and thunder, tiny hail, BIG hail, back to tiny hail, and now it's sunny and nearly dry! We LOVE this climate!

Northern Catalpa Tree and Brief Rain
I trashed my sunglasses with Saturday's "kissing the sidewalk" and am sure that saved my lenses and forehead!
These are glorious!
We have been waiting for the catalpa to start to leaf and we aren't disappointed!
It was just enough to water my gardens.
