Knitting Class and Great Neighbors

 They were AWESOME!

Time to winterize the front garden; Leo brought the salve for me to sample (it works for his arthritis!) and Dennis (incredibly creative) brought a sample of his hand crafted arrow, described his gourd patch in his backyard, and offered a concoction so Doc can protect the handles of his yard tools.

The last pic is of The Volcano, seen at 8PM from the 23rd floor window.

Quick Weekend

It was chilly and windy; Doc cooked delicious meals as usual.

I taught an applique class and then beginning knitting class on Saturday.  FUN!!!

Doc has shortened slacks and jeans in case he wants to wear them this week. Time sure goes quickly.

Our Hygge Life

It includes our Ma and Pa Ingalls lifestyle at The Barn of knitting while reading, being cozy under a knit or crocheted afghan, collecting dryer lint for the wood burning fireplace, splitting wood, going on long walks, canning apples and pizza sauce, making and lighting candles, and preparing most of our own meals.  Dinner at a restaurant just isn't the same!  He's into mindfulness and I gravitate towards the gospel.  It's all good and it's our wonderful life!

Sasha and Gregor Do Tricks

I don't like Halloween so don't sew costumes but could not resist October themed cotton fabrics.

Knitting and Candle Making

We have become BIG crafters!  He found this huge tub of candle making supplies on Craig's List.
This morning, my latest order from KnitPicks arrived.  I love yarn!

Wine and Yarn

Everything goes well with yarn and wine!  Doc's Christmas socks yarn arrived late afternoon yesterday and is perfect!  I don't knit as quickly these days and am hoping that changes once Dr. Fremling (hand specialist) tweaks two fingers of my left hand.

These three pairs of socks are on needles, as well as at least 15 other projects!!!

Fun at The Barn

It is definitely Autumn but we are still enjoying the back patio.  Low humidity (8%!) has returned.
Doc grilled burgers and since it was chilly and 62 degrees, we warmed our eating space with the outdoor fire pit.

Most of the leaves from the Cottonwood trees have fallen; we are welcoming snow!

Happy "I Love Yarn Day"

Doc is trying on Sasha Doll's mittens.
It's chilly plus 33 mph winds so we're staying inside.  We guess DIA is closed!
The French Onion soup for lunch was the best I've ever eaten.
For me, every day is loving yarn day; I knit every day and there's yarn project in progress in just about every room of our house.

Less Snow and Black Ice

Snow doesn't linger here and black ice is gone.  However, after my fall yesterday, I'm taking a break from walking.  All is well, just sort of achy from the impact.

Snow Melts Quickly Here

Six inches of snow melts quickly in Colorado. It's 33 degrees, very sunny, and only 66% humidity in spite of so much precipitation.

Broken Branches, Canning Pizza Sauce

The weight of the snow on trees with leaves was enough to break branches.
Doc hauled the branches from the sidewalk path onto the snowy banks.
Then we returned home and he canned pizza sauce!
