Flat Stanley Walks with Us

For our evening walk, Flat Stanley wanted to tag along. Here he is with our dog, Scout.

Jordyn Sent Flat Stanley to Visit

My great niece from Iowa had mailed Flat Stanley (written by Jeff Brown and a fun story in case you need a quick read) on the same day that we flew to Portland, Oregon. I'm taking good care of him and making him do my many tasks with me.

GPS Comparison

This was a funny conversation! Duncan won a GPS for something and gave it to Pat as an early Mother's Day present. They had not used it at all but Pat thought Jeff and I might want to use it for directions to the wineries in Washington state.

Jeff has been using a GPS long before I even knew what one was!! In this picture, Pat and Jeff are comparing their GPS units! We ended up using our own as we drove from winery to winery to yarn shop!

Never Stop Knitting

At age 85 years young, having raised seven children, worked as an RN, assisted with numerous pleas to help with grandchildren, Mom is still more active than those many years younger. Among other weekly activities (such as Fitness, weekly manicure and pedicure, volunteering with the Hospital Gift Shop, counting the money for her parish, and weekly bridge groups), she knits! Here she is buying yarn for the next project, a top-down cardigan.

Yet More Yarn!

Knitters never have enough yarn in their stash! Jeff used his GPS and easily drove from the Barnard Griffin Winery to Sheep's Clothing in Kennewick, WA. How fun! As always, I gravitate to the sock yarns and Mom likes the interesting natural fibers with plenty of texture.

Washington Winery

On February 26th, our patient driver, hubby Jeff, drove us to some nearby wineries. We actually visited two and I have a video camera showing our nice ventures. After that we would visit one more yarn shop before our energy expired. Here we are in Richland, WA visiting the Barnard Griffin Winery.

You Can Never Have Enough Yarn

Hubby Jeff drove me and Mom over to Richland to check out the new yarns at Knitty Gritty. Of course we found another project to add to the several that each of us already has mid stream. I chose navy wool for a special order and Mom found some bulky yarn that she just could not resist! As always, I took one of my dolls with me.
