Sheep & Friends

The "hippie compound" will have an open invitation to all knitters, crocheters, gardeners, and readers. Wool giving sheep also are welcome!

Reality Sheep

I always wanted my own few acres of sheep for their companionship, their wool, and as part of the dream.......... The dream is to have a getaway, a bed and breakfast, a compound, whatever you want to call it, for a peaceful place to spin and knit and crochet and garden and read all the time.

Hubby, a Dr. of Education who is rarely serious, looked at me with the most solemn expression, and said "that dream sounds like a hippie compound."

Okay! Then I want a hippie compound!!

This is my first lamb! I'm knitting her some companions too.

Christmas Sweater Progress

I had time to knit this afternoon and am loving this free pattern. Picasa was no help in adjusting the color. It is a true Christmas red, not this orangey version here.

Memorial Day Knitting

I cast on John Jeffrey's red Christmas sweater but with adult chat on the back patio while Jeff grilled burgers, I couldn't concentrate. A glass of pinot grigio didn't help concentration either. So I switched to Jeff's plain Father's Day socks.

Flowers and Butterfly

Butterflies love the Cosmos flowers. The original seeds were a gift from my father-in-law about 15 years ago. Each year, I harvest seeds and take them wherever we move. Some are also planted in Des Moines, Iowa and Magnolia and Houston, Texas.

Poor Baby Pumpkin

It's just way too hot in South Texas for pumpkins to reach maturity. It's already shrinking and turning yellow. No amount of watering is going to save it at this point.
