Week 17: Concrete Done

NICE!!  This morning they are removing the frames, watering the new concrete, and chatting.

Last night we had rain and hail right at 8 PM, our bedtime! His Baja seemed unharmed this morning.

Pouring Cement, maybe!

The sump pipe is there, can't find the drain as it's totally buried.

This was last night.  Maybe if we ignore it, the wreck of a property will disappear!
This morning, one man arrived at 10:00 and sits. He's a thinker, not a doer?
At noon, total chaos ensues.

Lots of trucks are along the street and in our driveway, hose is running and 5 men are here.

Broncos Kneesocks

After saying NO for two years and numerous requests, I finally said yes to an adult sewing student, Eric, who really really wanted hand knit wool Broncos socks.  It's cold at the games.  He brought me a Sanders shirt, costing his friend who gifted it, $150!!!  He admitted he would never pay that, was happily wearing a navy shirt to the games, but his friend owns at least 15 similar shirts!!!! That's a true fan!  So, Eric said there was no deadline and he plans to roll up his jeans to show off the socks. He's at least 6'3" with long narrow feet and matching calves.  I'm hoping to finish these quickly so I can go on to other knits.

My Own Topsy-Turvey

So NOW I can knit more of this toy without having to borrow the book from our library!  Thank you, Kristine!!!

Owl, Bunny, Garden, ICK

He flew right in front of me while on my walk along the greenbelt.
Bunny is by the log; he scampered off but no, I didn't have the hose ready!
Why do they insist on plopping boards on the mulch and plants? I moved one, then gave up!
The men are using a wheelbarrow; no more trashing the sump drain!

Week 17: Cement Preparation

This will become the extended patio.  They are scheduled to pour tomorrow.
We are trying to ignore the total mess and enjoy Colorado evenings.  Our property is a wreck; at least the front yard is gorgeous and receives compliments from neighbors.  Most of the chaos is invisible to the front.  Tons of trucks are a constant but.............it's construction!
Rodney (a new name!) is verifying the dimensions of the slab for his new shed.  Last night it was 2" short.  The shed he is looking to sit on the slab won't fit!!

My feet are up as I knit because on Friday night, a bunny took a dare from another and ran UNDER my chair!!  Freak out!!!

Matthew, the builder, came by late afternoon to see progress.  He often takes pictures.

Week 17: Shower Floor

John and Ivan were here as I returned from my early morning walk.
They worked on flooring, showed me examples of tile and the arrangement, including pebble tile.
The penciled marks show the niche for soaps and razors.
