She's knitting her first socks ever, using the Turkish cast on, and doing a fabulous job! Every knitter at Colorful Yarns was working on gorgeous projects and it's such fun to see.
I'm having a heck of a time with my Turkish cast on. I did have a busy day yesterday. Today my day is slower and I'm going to keep at it. I was able to do it, it just looks bad. I want it to look nice so I will practice and rip out until it looks better.
Yes, I too had to practice a few times before I was satisfied. I'm glad you're trying earlier in the day. Evening is just too late as your eyes and hands are tired. For M1, I knit in the front and back of the second stitch, not the first stitch. At the end of the toe, I kfb in the next to the last stitch. There's really no reason you can't use your favorite method of M1 as long as you are consistent.
I love being married to the absolute best companion for life. I love being Mom, and now a Gramma. Grandbaby #2, a darling blonde chatterbox arrived on August 14, 2010. Grandbaby #3, a little boy, arrived on July 12, 2011. He is gorgeous! Baby sister arrived in August 2013 and what a beautiful baby! The most recent arrival is Augustine, 5th grandchild, born January 2014. Life is so good!

ReplyDeleteWhat type of increase are you using for your M1? Does it matter?
