Thank you, Great Neighbors!

Clues from two great neighbors have affirmed that yes, the round cover is hiding a sump, and yes, there is a cement ring around a cover that is difficult to remove.  The experts are visiting us July 13, Aug. 3, and ? another date.  In the meantime, we are happy!

Front Gardens

Bunny nests in the red yarrow; a huge hole is in the middle of the grouping!

Black bunny and his pals have eaten most of this garden.  Now that it's getting warmer, I'm hoping the bunnies leave and the Cosmos start to flourish.  The iris bulbs are new this year, and the amarilyis, so  perhaps we'll see blooms in the Spring.  The sunflowers near the street, and the onions, have been transplanted from the back edible garden.

One Perfect Robin Egg

Birds have flown and I knocked down the old nest, only to find one seemingly perfect egg in the bottom of the nest.  Nature is interesting.

Wasp, Bat, Blooms, Empty Nest

Surprise!  A sleeping bat and start of a wasp nest is just out the back door!
I can't wait to see these Black Eyed Susans.
 The front yard is gorgeous.
All three birds and their parents are gone!
Our miniature day lilies are finally opening.

Baby Robins

The bird is still pretty fuzzy and does more hopping around than short flights but he's strong! His sibling too is hopping around the mulch in the backyard and taking short flights to a planter, the woodpile, and the fence.  Both parents are nearby and even offer food to the brave kids.
Here is Timid One, still occupying the nest.
This is Mom, watching out for Hawk and Squirrels!

Organizing Santa's Workshop

Everything from Santa's Workshop must go into the Guest Room while I reorganize my work space.

This is the closet in Santa's Workshop, partially emptied. The process will hopefully be completed by mid-July.  Right now, I'm still trying to sew; machines will be the last to move.

Garden in Front Yard

The Northern Catalpa is gorgeous and has more white blooms every day.

Bunny sits in this matted down space! So far there are no babies romping through the streets.

Canning Salsa, Baking Cookies

The canning is outside because it's 97 degrees.  No extra heat in the kitchen!  However, he's baking cookies inside.  On Father's Day, he can do what he wants!!

Three Baby Birds

There could be four; I'm sure I saw three open mouths.  Momma Robin would not go into the nest while I videoed her family.

Good-bye #46

Golden's Farmers' Market

We left the house at 7:30; a perfect morning before it reaches the 90s.  We bought pies, cherries, and garlic herb seasoning mix for dips and seasonings.
