Perfect Yarn

Not only do daughter and son-in-law gift us with a perfectly beautiful granddaughter, but new yarn from Knit Picks arrived just after the newborn! Here is the box of cotton/linen blend for a Debbie Bliss hooded cardigan. The yarn is perfect with the new Colorado scarf! Thank you, Kristine and Jerome!

Knitting and Grandbabies

The doll sweaters on Brooklyn will be listed for sale soon. The grandbabies are perfect and NOT, NOT, NOT for sale!

Yarn Purchases

My little grandson approved of the yarn and hugged it, then tossed it. He makes up the most fun games!

Moving Van on August 15

While playing with Grandson in Houston, this is what the front of my Corpus Christi home looked like! Hubby is currently driving to Centennial.

Brooklyn!!

The pictures are cheapo cell phone style, undoctored by picasa because I'm on someone else's laptop. The BABY though is gorgeous! She is about 17 hours old in these pictures, born early evening on August 14, 2010. She decided to completely please her family by arriving a few days before her "due" date, weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces, has a lot of very blonde hair, has delicate hands and feet, dark eyes, and a big brother who kissed her head a lot! We are all in heaven, so blessed, and so grateful for this beautiful new life.

Big Brother

Grandson is playing with stuff while waiting for little sister's vital signs (still unborn) to be checked. He likes Dr. Baird and enjoys the doctor appointments. Hopefully the next post will be about Brooklyn! With a picture of Brooklyn!!

Busy at DOT

There is so much waiting at the Department of Transportation but............. I finished Jeff's socks and She now has a Texas (US!) driver's license. Hurray!

Stash Yarn = Packing Material

We've had four different moving companies come out to give a quote on moving costs. We chose a company and are now trying to get organized. Yarn makes great packing material.

Gorgeous Felted Bowl

Pictures don't even begin to do justice to the beauty of this felted bowl made by a talented knitter friend. You must see it in person! Once we are settled, it will be displayed in a prominent place for all to admire and enjoy. Thank you, Ruk, for sharing your talents and your friendship. I already miss you!

The assorted shells and special card were part of the generous gift. I love the way the shells complement the gorgeous hand knit and felted bowl. Shells and yarn seem so natural together. In addition, there is a hand sewn bag for varying treasures that might just change from day to day. What perfect gifts for nature aficionados and for going green! Thank you again, Ruk.

Jeff's Socks

These are another pair of toe up, using sock yarn from my stash. One car will need new tires before the long trip from Texas to Colorado.

Knitting in Public

Cars are getting checkups before the long road trip from Corpus Christi to Centennial. As always, while waiting, there is knitting!

78 Degrees in Denver

We're about to take our evening walk and it's still 86 degrees in Corpus Christi with the heat index of 102 degrees. So, do you think we're sad that it's 78 degrees in Denver today, with NO heat index?

Do you think there might be some wool socks, wool hats and scarves, and wool sweaters in this household just in case 78 is too chilly for our blood?

Look, John Jeffrey!

Haira driving!!

Happy at DOT

Here's a happy woman! She drove us home legally with a Texas permit and soon will take the driving test for a license to drive in the US!

Knitting In Public

While waiting at the Texas DOT this morning, I knit a lot on Jeff's sock.

Hand Made

There is NOTHING better than something hand made! Take a minute to admire; the stenciled card, the sewn cloth bag with cute drawstring, and the crocheted pouch with clever yarn tie, and the crocheted bookmark with bead accent are all made by a seven year old. This little one is talented and thoughtful and giving of time and treasures. Thank you, Little Bit! I so miss you already!
