Sweater For 18 Inch Dolls Step 3

Continue the increases in front of and behind every marker until the front has 20 stitches (measure the doll if you have access), keeping the front band in seed or garter stitch so it won't roll.

Knitting across (I purled across - it doesn't matter), place the sleeve stitches onto a stitch holder (or safety pin, waste yarn, anything that will hold stitches) cast on 4 (your choice of cast on) stitches where the sleeve stitches once were, and continue knitting and purling until the body of the sweater is the desired length.

  1. Wow! This is really cool to see how you actually make the sweater! I love this tutorial!

  2. Glad this is fun for you to see! The tutorial was per request of other knitters. Not all sweaters (doll's, people's, or doggie's) are knit from the neck down. This is a great, simple method with little to no seaming.

  3. Mary Anne knows I'm a woman of no seaming if at all possible. :-)
